Thorough:Thought Podcast 4:: Cogidubnus

After catching our attention through a recent drop of wonderful tunes, and being featured on friends of the family Reboot Records, I approached Cogidubnus about possibly working on a feature for the blog. With a string of steady releases and forthcomings on Echodub and Methodology, I see big things in the future for the man. We settled on a mix and an interview, and what was delivered was stunning to say the least. The mix, a serious roller, features more dub’s and forthcomings then youll care to count, and will hold your attention for the entire ride. Check the interview and mix after the jump.

This round, focus falls on Southeast London based Pressa, who’s quickly building a serious reputation for his skills both in the mix and in the studio. Focusing on deep and spacey vibes and known to drift away from Dubstep when hes in the mood, he’s got a  few releases in the pipeline that are well deserved.  Had a brief chat with the man and he’s been kind enough to provide the third in our podcast series, so interview, mix and tracklist after the jump!

Reboot ::: Pakistan Relief EP ::: (RELIEF01)

Launching today, Reboot Records takes a serious stand for humanitarianism with thier newest release, a charity compilation album to benefit the victims of the recent, disastorous flooding in Pakistan. Properly entitled the ‘Pakistan Relief EP’ (RELIEF01), it hit digital stores November 8th. Featuring a host of talented artists on the roster, and packing a range of sounds from loungey, shuffley, 2-step inspired tunes to deep, dark, brooding sub shakers, and back out to bouncy, dancefloor movers, it begs to be bagged by DJ’s and listeners alike. All proceeds from the release will go to benefit the Disasters Emergency Committee, so get on it now and help support the cause!

Fentplates ::: Twitch “Ritual Dub/Spores”

Thought Id stop by and give you guys the update about a release that’s caught my eye… Friends of the family, Fentplates, have been seriously stirring up the deep and melodic side of the scene since they launched midyear 2010. With a string of releases out already, including ones from names like Box Mouse, Kochari, and Bind Prophet, and some big ones forthcoming, these guys aren’t one to be missed, and are poised to shine for some time to come.

Ceiran Trigg, better known as Triggy, is a West London producer/DJ, who has been seriously catching our eye with his latest string of releases, so when he approached us with an offer to do a mix and give our readers a 320 of one of his newest dubs, we were more then happy to oblige! I had a few words with him about what hes been up to lately, included after the break.

Friend of the blog Deadly Habit has been kind enough to offer up one of his newest tunes, Frogs, as a free 320 to our readers! For those who arent aware, Deadly Habit is a drum n’ bass producer who began drifting into dubstep approximately 5 years ago, with his tunes seeing releases on Shift, Betamorph, Savory Audio, 20twelve, and Reboot Records. Making big moves with the relaunch of his own label, Tentative, he’s set to deliver a consistent stream of tunes from all walks of EDM for many years to come.

Phantom Hertz ::: Low Voltage Volume 5

Basic A starts off this release with ‘Serenity’, a gorgeous, minimal track that rolls along with layers of impossibly deep bass, crisp drums and and psychedelic vibes. Deep and meditative, with just the right amount of reverb, this song is achingly beautiful.

Savory Audio ::: Oceania “Flying Far Away”

Leading off this month, I was sent a positively stunning forthcoming release by the guys over at Savory Audio. In the second release he’s done with Savory, Russian born Oceania (Nick Kostylew) is doing huge things with “Flying Far Away”, a two track package that manages to conjure up a huge variety of emotions with its glitchy, rolling, deep sound. Characterized by subtle pitch bends, fantastic synthwork, earth shaking subs and luscious atmospheres, this is not one to be missed!
